Getting There
Marina “Carmelo”, Vibo Marina, Valentia, Italy
Please note that arrival times can be flexible so please let us know if you will be arriving later. Florette will remain in port for the first evening.
By Air
Lamezia Airport (SUF) is the closest to the Marina. RyanAir offer direct flights from Stansted to Lemezia three times a week. Other flights from the UK normally require a change over in Milan or Rome which are available from London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and some other regional airports. From either Milan MXP Milan BGY, or Rome (FCO) airports you can take an internal flight which is approximately 1hr 50 mins. Many low cost Airlines such as WizzAir, Easy Jet, RyanAir and Italian ITA Airways offer these flights daily.
Once at Lamezia Airport it’s a 30minute taxi ride to the Marina. There are registered taxi companies operating from outside of the airport. Please ensure you agree a price before getting in the taxi.
By Train
You can also choose to fly to Rome (FCO) or Naples (NAP) airports and head to the central station, there you take the train down to Vibo-Pizzo Station, this is about 5-6 hours, with a short 10 min taxi ride to the marina from there. A beautiful, good value and a sustainable way to see the country.

As you sail north, the iconic Amalfi Coast greets you with its picturesque villages nestled against dramatic cliffs. Stop in charming towns like Positano and Amalfi, where you can indulge in local delicacies and explore quaint streets brimming with character.
Next, navigate to the enchanting island of Capri, known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. Enjoy time to hike the rugged trails or sip limoncello by the harbour.
Continue your journey to Procida, a hidden gem with colourful houses and tranquil beaches, before finally arriving in Naples. As you dock in this bustling city, savour authentic pizza and take in the lively atmosphere, cherishing the memories made along this exquisite Mediterranean voyage.
Although you will be embarking on a sailing voyage and the emphasis will be on your enjoyment of the experience, you will be the vessel as a Voyage Crew Member.
Your role as a Voyage Crew Member will involve you learning about and participating in ship-board life. Allowances will be made for age and abilities. No previous sailing experience is necessary. The term "VOYAGE CREW" defines any persons coming onboard for pleasure and or as an active member of the permanent crew, trainee/ Mitsegler, youths or as a student.
Due to the nature of the ship and activities we require all Voyage Crew Members to be in good health and be fit. We want you to have fun!
Generally, we don't recommend this type of vacation to anyone who is 70 years or older. All seniors over 60 years during voyages in the Atlantic and Caribbean must have a letter of good health from a medical doctor stating they are fit to join the intended voyage.
Before all delivery voyages and Ocean sailings, we require all voyage crew to have an interview with Captain Ron Haynes to discuss if this type of voyage is suitable for you. Especially on longer voyages having a nice constellation of people on board is very important to us, as we will be living together in limited space for sometimes over a month.
The length of the voyage, the voyage crew constellation, and your age, experience and fitness will be considered. Of course, if you have sailed before with us you will be warmly welcomed on board.

- Sun cream (please use reef safe, eco products where possible)
- Sunglasses and a warm hat/cap
- Small personal first aid kit and any medication you may need
